Houbara Bustards

 North African Houbara bustards are an endangered species; numbers of this species have decreased dramatically in only a few decades; between opening in 1995 and last year the Emirates Centre for wildlife propagation  has produced more than 60,000 of the birds it is located in the Missour in Morocco and is financed by the AbuDhabi  government .Similar have been established in the UAE , Kazakhstan , China and Turkmenistan .The Centre in Morocco has ambitious plans for the future to extend the release efforts to 15,000 birds per season; another set of technicians work on matching females and males, a process that is tightly controlled to ensure the genetic composition of future stock . All this is to help this species from not becoming extinct. The scientists also monitor this species using radio and satellite transmitters to track their movements.
